Club Rides

We are a small club but there are always rides to take part in. We have the official club run from Richmond Park every Sunday as well as informal training and social rides throughout the week. It's club members responsibility to play an active part in the club's rides, if you want to ride and there isn't anything suitable arranged then step up, plan a route and publish it on the forum for other members to join.

Sunday club run

The club run happens every week and starts from Richmond Park. Club runs are not 100km , eyeballs out, training rides. They are the heart of the club and ridden at a social pace and as a member you are expected to make many more than you miss. We have a variety of routes, some flat and some a little more bumpy, all are designed to be no more than 70kms and cater for all abilities within the club.

The club has five ride captains, which change every year, it's their job to plan the route and lead the ride. This helps share the responsibility of leading a club run and keeps the routes varied and interesting.

Tuesday Nights in Kent

Once the clocks change and the nights get shorter there additional club rides on weekday evenings. These are arranged through the forum, one of these is the ever popular Tuesday nights in Kent (TNIK). The destination for these rides changes every week but they usually start from Cadence and ride on the quieter roads in Kent. Good lights are essential (no light no ride). Check the forum for more details.

Track racing at Herne Hill Velodrome (HHV)

Herne Hill is very close to the club’s heart and we have riders training or competing there every week during the season. Whether you’re an experienced racer, dipping your toe in to track cycling, or just want to pedal hard and turn left— there is something for everyone. 

Sessions for experienced riders or racers: Monday night race training, Wednesday night track league, Thursday advanced, Saturday Intermediate training, Open Meetings and Sunday morning advanced. If you’re starting out, you’ll need to attend an induction, followed by track skills sessions.  More details here.

Please note that Herne Hill has it’s own system of rider accreditation for training and racing — more details can be found on their website

We run a yearly Open track meeting there every year and it's the highlight of clubs track year – details can be found on the Facebook page. If you fancy seeing what's going or riding with us down at HHV look out for a rider in jersey and say hello, or ask for Dan.

Time trialling 

The race of truth. All about the individual against the clock. No teammates, no helping, no hiding. Grupetto are affiliated to the CTT, so if you fancy being the next Bradley Wiggins, Tony Martin or Fabian Cancellara then head over to Cycling Time Trials where you can see what Open time trials (or hill climbs if you are that way inclined) are being organised, and then enter.
